Answers in half a second and lets you interrupt

How it answers

This is what people call a virtual operator, an auto attendant or a voice assistant. SARI does what all of them promise —answer, understand and pass the call— with no IVR keypad menus and no "press one".

• •Understands and transfers — it is not a menu or a keypress tree. It listens to the whole sentence, works out what is being asked and passes the call to the right person.
• •Lets you interrupt — talk over it and it stops and listens, the way a person would. With echo cancellation, so it works on speakerphone and not only with a headset.
• •Replies in about 600 ms — and in 160 ms when the question is already in its answer bank. Sessions start in 57 ms to first audio.
• •Three languages — Spanish, English and German, with the same voice and the same behaviour in all three.

This is not a text chatbot

A WhatsApp bot answers written messages, when the customer decides to write, and it may take a few seconds. That works, and it is cheap.

SARI solves a different problem: the phone rings and nobody picks up. There is no thinking time there — take two seconds and the person has already hung up. That is why the numbers above are in milliseconds rather than minutes, and why it lets you cut in: in a spoken conversation, waiting for the other side to finish the sentence feels wrong.

If your alternative today is a text bot that works for you, you probably do not need this. If the problem is calls going unanswered, a text bot will not fix it.

What is behind it

Speech recognition, the language model and speech synthesis come from different providers, and if the primary takes longer than 450 ms the backup steps in: no single piece is a point of failure. Every call is recorded on separate channels, transcribed, summarised and scored. SARI is the voice of Sariphone, our enterprise voice platform.

The browser demo is exactly the same voice that answers the calls: no sign-up, nothing to download and no data left behind. It needs a microphone, and sounds better with headphones.

What SARI is not today

It is deployed per project; it is not something you sign up for on this page.
