How it is built
Rust with actix-web and SvelteKit, on PostgreSQL. Installable web app (PWA) with offline mode for reading and a queue for changes. Personal data encrypted per field with AES-256-GCM, append-only audit trail with integrity hashes, two-factor authentication, FHIR API and about 1,350 automated tests. A dedicated server per deployment, in the clinic’s jurisdiction.
Where it comes from
A bespoke version of Sarident documents more than 240 patients and 1,400 clinical photographs on a public dental prosthetics programme in Medellín (as of September 2026). Sarident rewrites that experience with an all-Rust backend, for clinics in Colombia, Germany and the United States.
What Sarident is not today
It is in development, and this is what cannot be claimed yet.
- ×It is not in production at any clinic: it is shown by demo.
- ×The regulatory modules (RIPS and DIAN in Colombia, GOZ, KZBV and eRezept in Germany, EDI 837P in the United States) are coded but not validated with the authorities.
- ×HIPAA and GDPR controls are implemented, not certified or audited by third parties.
- ×AI features on X-rays have no clinical validation and no regulatory clearance.
- ×There is no app in the stores: it is an installable web app.
